Alhamdulillahi Wahdah, Was-Salatu Was-Salamu 'Ala Man La Nabiyya Ba’dah. Amma Ba’d.
Endless praise and gratitude to the Almighty Rabbul Alamin, who has created us as human beings. Alhamdulillah.
May peace and blessings be upon the last Prophet, Rahmatul-lil-Alamin, the messenger of liberation, our beloved Muhammadur Rasulullah (SAW).
Before introducing Muslim University, let’s first lay down some context.
Tell me, how many universities are there in the world? Let me tell you—universities exist in the hundreds of thousands. A brief statistic: Bangladesh alone has a certain number of public universities, and worldwide, the number is much higher.
With so many universities and colleges across the world, why did we even think of establishing this online Muslim University?
What is the necessity of this Muslim University?
We have observed some shortcomings in existing universities. Among them:
Western universities, especially those in America and Europe, are all founded on materialistic philosophies, and their curricula reflect that ideology.
Islamic universities in the Middle East and other regions often lack a well-organized structure. Their education systems and curricula are largely shaped by European models, failing to equip students in a way that ensures the broader progress of the Muslim Ummah. There is little focus on practical needs or future strategic planning.
There are also several smaller issues, and considering all these aspects, we have designed our own curriculum and educational policy.
The Context Behind Our Educational Philosophy
Let me ask you—Was the COVID-19 virus man-made? Some may find this question surprising. You might think, "How can such a tiny thing be artificially created?" But whether possible or not, we can infer from the mutual blame game between America and China. America claims COVID-19 was engineered in China, while China blames America. We are not here to determine who is responsible, but the bigger issue is that humanity has now reached the technological capability to create such microscopic entities. Otherwise, why would these global powers accuse each other?
Now, let’s consider how small the coronavirus is and whether anything of similar size has been invented before.
Be patient—this is all part of explaining why we established our online university.
Take, for example, the mobile phones we all use. The processor, or the "brain" of these devices, operates on a nanometer scale. The latest iPhone 16 Pro Max has a 3-nanometer processor.
Do you know how small a nanometer is? One nanometer is one-billionth of a meter. In other words, if you divide a single centimeter into ten million parts, one part is a nanometer. That’s how small it is—completely invisible to the naked eye. Yet, they have mastered the technology to manufacture such components.
And who are "they"? They are non-Muslims.
Have you heard of Neuralink? It’s an innovation by Elon Musk, designed to implant a chip into the human brain, functioning like a processor that can connect directly to human thought processes and enhance cognitive abilities.
Again, who is leading these innovations?
Jews, Christians, and other non-Muslims.
Now, let’s compare this with the size of the coronavirus, which ranges from 60 to 120 nanometers. If modern scientists can work at the 3-nanometer scale, 60 nanometers is hardly a challenge.
Look at Bangladesh’s construction sector—all major projects rely on China, Russia, or Western countries for expertise. Despite having numerous universities and a large population, why have we failed to develop such technologies?
Is it due to a lack of institutions? Or a shortage of people?
We have institutions.
We have manpower.
Then where is the problem?
The problem lies in our curriculum and educational policies.
That’s why we established Muslim University—to be part of the solution.
At Muslim University, we have strived to integrate various disciplines and restructure the curriculum to address these gaps. Our goal is to revive and reshape Islamic education so that our students are prepared to lead the future, rather than merely follow others.
